Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • In the case of joint authorship, a letter should accompany the manuscript stating which author will assume responsible for correspondence and proofreading.
  • Since 1999, the section "Research Announcements" has been published. Besides the text (up to 5 journal pages), the authors should submit an expanded version containing proofs of all results.
  • The papers should be typed in LATeX, using the style and maket files of the journal "Matematychni Studii".
  • The editorial board considers only the papers which are submitted by online submission system on the web-site http://matstud.org.ua. LaTeX- and pdf-files of the article must be submitted simultaneously.
  • On acceptance of the paper authors may send the paper by electronic mail to: math.studii@lnu.edu.ua.
  • If the manuscript does not satisfy the rules of journal, the editorial board can reject the paper.

Author Guidelines

Each typescript should include:

  • the author's name, title and an abstract (its length is at least 1800 symbols written in English (20 lines)), preferably containing no formulae and certainly no complicated formulae and no references
  • a 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification;
  • if the title is long, a shortened form of it, no more than 40 characters in length;
  • the address of the author(s) for publication in the journal;
  • keywords;

The arrangement of theorems, lemmas, propositions, corollaries, which are to be numerated, in papers written in English should be carried out in the following way:
\begіn{theorem}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{theorem}
\begіn{proof}[Proof]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{lemma}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{lemma}
\begіn{proof}[Proof]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{proposition}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{proposition}
\begіn{proof}[Proof]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{corollary}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{corollary}
\begіn{proof}[Proof]
Proof text
\end{proof}

The Editorial Board does not recommend using the environment \begіn{definition} ... \end{definition} to select mathematical numerated definitions. We recommend the following form for the definiton:
"Definition text {\it the term which is defined} the continuation of definition text."

In the case, when the paper is written in Ukrainian, the theorems, lemmas, propositions, corollaries, which are to be numerated, should be arranged in the following way:
\begіn{theorem}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{theorem}
\begіn{proof}[Доведення.]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{lemma}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{lemma}
\begіn{proof}[Доведення.]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{proposition}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{proposition}
\begіn{proof}[Доведення.]
Proof text
\end{proof}

\begіn{corollary}
{\sl Formulation text }
\end{corollary}
\begіn{proof}[Доведення.]
Proof text
\end{proof}

The Editorial Board does not recommend using the environment \begіn{definition} ... \end{definition} to select mathematical numerated definitions. We recommend the following form for the definiton:
"Definition text {\it the term which is defined} the continuation of definition text."

If there is no numeration, use
theorem*, lemma*, proposition*, corollary*,
everywhere instead of
theorem, lemma, proposition, corollary,
respectively.
The arrangement of ordered lists should be carried out using the environment itemize, for example:
\begіn{itemize}
\item[1.] text 1
\item[2.] text 2
\item[3.] text 3
\end{itemize}
or
\begіn{itemize}
\item[a)] text a
\item[b)] text b
\item[c)] text c
\end{itemize}.
In order to organize complicated formulae and relations, which occupy more than one line, use the environment gather, for instance:
\begіn{gather}
\nonumber line 1 of the formula \\
line 2 of the formula \\
\nonumber line 3 of the formula
\end{gather} The above example reflects the formula, which occupies three lines. Besides, line 1 and line 3 are not numerated, and line 2 is numerated automatically.

If the author wants to arrange a formula, which is not numerated, he or she is supposed to use the environment gather* :

\begіn{gather*}
line 1 of the formula \\
line 2 of the formula \\
...
the last line of the formula
\end{gather*}
The references items should be arranged in the following way:

I.
a) \bibitem{2.} T. Banakh, A. Ravsky, {\it On Unconditionally Convergent Series in Topological Rings,} Carpathian Math. Publ.  {\bf 14} (1) (2022), 266--288.  https://doi.org/10.15330/cmp.14.1.266-288
b)\bibitem{5.} A. Chigogidze, Inverse Spectra, North Holland, Amsterdam, 1996.

Each reference item published in non-Latin alphabet must be translated in English, e.g.

Ya.V. Vasyl'kiv, L.R. Politylo, {\it Integral means for functions conjugate to subharmonic functions,} Visnyk Lviv Univ., Ser.Mech-Math. {\bf 71} (2010), 47-62 (in Ukrainian).
or
Zadorozhna O.Yu., Skaskiv O.B. On the domains of convergence of the double random Dirichlet series, Mat. Stud.  {\bf 32} (1), 2009, 81-85. (in Ukrainian).

In case, when the paper has to contain pictures, they are to be created in jpeg-format.
If possible, try to avoid using too many definitions of new commands (\def).

  1. The conventions of mathematical journals should be observed. The style of references should be as in the papers published in the current issue. The Editorial Board considers paper written preferable in English. The papers written in other languages (French, German, and Ukrainian) can be considered in exceptional cases by a special decision of the Editorial Board. In the section Chronicles, accepted languages are English and Ukrainian.
  2. In the case of joint authorship, a letter should accompany the manuscript stating which author will assume responsibility for correspondence and proofreading.
  3. Since 1999, the section “Research Announcements” was introduced. Besides the text (up to 5 journal pages), the authors should submit an expanded version containing complete proofs of all results.
  4. The papers should be typed in LATEX using the style and maket files of the journal ”Matematychni Studii”. The editorial board considers only the papers which are submitted by online submission system on the web-site http://matstud.org.ua. LaTeX- and pdf-files of the article must be submitted simultaneously.

If the manuscript does not satisfy the rules of journals, the editorial board can reject the paper.

Style and maket files could be downloaded here: matstud4.zip

Instructions for the maket file are included in the file as comments.
